BALBOA PARK

Balboa Park is a 1400-acre park that has many museums and lots of green space. It was actually created for the Panama California Exhibition of 1915-1916, and many of the buildings from the event remain in the park. The Spanish-style low-rise building blends in beautifully with the natural surroundings of the park. You can find botanical gardens, lily ponds, various museums, and the San Diego Zoo.

SEAWORLD

SeaWorld in San Diego is the main family attraction in the city! It is located in Mission Bay. For a lot of people, Sea World has been a family tradition. This aquarium has been around since the 60s. Some highlights of SeaWorld are the killer whale shows, dolphins, and various other sea life. Roller coasters can also be found here as well!

SAN DIEGO ZOO

POINT LOMA

Point Loma is a beautiful location to look out at San Diego and the Pacific Ocean. This historic location actually is where Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo landed on the west coast of the US in 1542. You can see the history through various exhibits and displays at the Cabrillo National Monument.

SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF ART

This Art Museum is a copy of the 17th-century University of Salamanca. It has finely chiseled terracotta and beautiful silversmith work. You will find examples of Spanish painter’s work, as well as a vast collection of works from around the world! Some piece’s date back to over 7000 years ago!

USS MIDWAY MUSEUM

If you walk along the San Diego waterfront, you might be surprised to see one of the US military’s largest ships. The USS Midway is permanently berthed at Navy Pier. In this museum, you can see over 60 exhibits and over 20 aircraft that have been restored. Over 225,000 military service personnel served on this ship, and you can take a self-guided tour to learn more about it.

MISSION BEACH BOARDWALK

Do you want to experience southern California’s beachy lifestyle? Then take a walk on Mission Beach Boardwalk. You can take a walk, sunbathe, or just people watch. You will also find people cycling, skateboarding and rollerblading. There is also Belmont Park located nearby. This is a seaside amusement park, familiar to the ones you would find on the East Coast. Roller coasters, street performers and a carnival ambiance will keep you entertained.
